Yo we’re back at the Bloomington Playwrights Project and we finally have a liquour permit… get there early… cover jumps from $3 to $5 after midnight.

This dude’s art blog consists of a series of cartoons that he brings to life by giving them realistic textures and whatnot. Check the creepy looking Super Mario.

If you know me, you know when I’m at home I’m usually bumping some rap or chill downtempo joints. One of my favorites in the latter category are Hot Chip. They just did a live set on NPR in Minneapolis, including a medley of Prince’s “Nothing Compares to You” with their “In the Privacy of our Lives” that is straight fire. Follow the link right hurrrr to download them.

I’ve been wasting so much time playing this Zombie Wars.

This blog has turned into nothing but party promoting and youtubes but I really mean to put up more music… let’s start now. My homie DJ Wushu just released a seriously dope mix today, “Bass for Breakfast.” Check the insane cover from young Halverson, girl reflecting in the spacemans helmet?!?!

Fancy Footwork is back this Thursday, ALL AGES and at the Bloomington Playwrights Project. I’m pleased to announce we have the dj duo the Philadelphyinz rollin through on their midwest tour. Three reasons you don’t want to miss it. 1. If you know anything about djs from Philly, you know they’re going to kill it. 2. We’re doing NO COVER BEFORE MIDNIGHT and only $3 after. 3. Also we’ll be giving away the new IHEARTCOMIX mix CD sponsored by scion to every single person who comes through the door

Friday will be my first trip to Depauw University in Greencastle. I’m real hyped for this too. It’s Depauw’s big party weekend/bike race and we’re doing it real big! 3 DJs and myself going from 9PM to 5AM! Best of all IT’S FREE!

Kicked the week off Monday already waking up hungover regretting the decision to go out Sunday night. Went and picked up a box of emergen-c, so necessary, only reason I’m still alive. The first night of the week wasn’t too crazy, opened up for Dot Dot Dot. Cover bands aren’t really my cup of tea but they’re good at what they do. The event was a fundraiser for Dance Marathon but none of the members even came by, also they had a bunch of tshirts left over because 3 frats ordered 50 each and then never paid for them, wack.
Tuesday, Flufftronix and I had our Rad 5 kickoff at one of my new favorite venues the BPP, I was djing though next door at Jakes for a foam party. I’ve never done one before but it was pretty clownin’ The staff all had squirt guns and the foam pit resembled a Roman Orgy. The year before apparently one of the shot girls got caught banging a door guy in there, classy broads in the B-Town. I’ve been doing so much hipster electro type jump-offs lately it was kinda nice to dumb it down and get a chance to play some rap. Mad chicks kept falling all over the place when they got outta the foam and I saw a dude powerslide across the floor into a wall, haha.

Wednesday was our big Flosstradamus party at the Buskirk Chumley Theater. Despite the DMX and the Yin Yang Twinz concerts going on across town we had a good crowd. First off let me just say that Josh and Kurt are two of the most standup dudes I’ve ever worked with. They were booked on American Airlines, who cancelled every single one of their flights on Wednesday afternoon. Luckily they were in Chicago and the dudes jumped on a MegaBus, walked into the theater 5 minutes before going on, and then proceeded to kill it. Totally Michael was our surprise special guest and jumped on top of a couple bass cabinets and ripped through 5 jams, despite one of the mics being way low (the sound guy decided to disappear for half the show). After the show fun little afterparty with a drunken Autobot/Wushu scratch off. I know I’m forgeting some peeps but thanks to everyone who came through from outta town, Matelic & Caroline, Limelight, Grey, Lex, Tim & Smash it Up, and Solly. Someone also stole 2 of our Rad Summer bannners, to whoever stole them, all that I ask is that you fly them high.
Pics right here and over here
Thurs linked up with the homie DJ Wushu. Our party that night bombed, it was pouring rain and I think everyone was partied out from the night before but he killed it.

Got up early on Friday to do a charity instore event at Urban Outfitters. The weather was nice so I got to dj outside on the patio and watch all the wasted cats stagger by. Right when I got done djing word on the street was that Obama was in town and was going to make a surprise trip down Kirkwood. Mad cops and security started swarming and then sure enough he appeared. I’ve seen alot of celebrities before but I don’t think I’ve seen anything quite like the reaction Obama recieved. People were lining the streets like he was the second coming of Jesus, so dope! Wish I would have had the chance to shake his hand though but I had to dip and get ready for our party at the BPP. In addition to Flufftronix and I we had Totally Michael and Pumpkin Patch perform. Fluffy’s set destroyed the place, Michael killed it on a shitty plastic karaoke mic, and Pumpkin Patch played a bunch of his own tracks and some ill funk and disco. The crowd there might have been the most enthusiastic I’ve ever played for.
Shout out to all the Rad Summer interns for making everything possible, Nicole, Elliot, Katrina, and Dylan!

Lil 500 week pops off today… besides the Rad 5 Festival mentioned a few post below, I’m doing two events at Jakes Nightclub tonight (Monday) and Tuesday.
